IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER FLOOD
People think heaven is behind the sky
People thinking crazy things and not thinking why
They think the answer’s going to fall from above
I think the answer is another flood
ch: It’s time, time for another flood
It’s time, baby, time for another flood
People live in wickedness and dwell in greed
They’ll murder their brother to get more than they need
They even rape the Mother and swim in her blood
I call on the Father for another flood
ch
All of this truth has all been a lie
Our immortal souls have already died
The time for salvation has come and gone
and all that’s coming now is another flood

Notes/Memo
This mashes up kinda cool — but very edgily — with “Wade in the Water”
pop opera idea
Towers of the Rich (or something)
TIme for another Flood
Scared of the Light
can draw from a lot of already written songs
Anti-hero is a rich and powerful televangelist
who is afraid of fiery young minister
who televangelist thinks is the real thing and that both scares him
makes him aware of his the core-deep doubt that he’s hidden so long it’s second nature to him
but also stirs him to competition [ed: see girl/woman below]
but then he finds out that the fiery young preacher
is far more cynical or just plain evil or something.
How do I get a girl in this?
Obviously, she must be torn between them…
But you could have two couples with one competitive relationship targeting one of the women — the young one, beautiful and seemingly innocent? Or the still beautiful older woman (herself maybe a trophy-ish second wife somewhat younger than the televangelist?
Both. More opportunities to have the obligatory soprano and alto parts. I guess that’s why you see so many of these trapezoidal relationships…
like, of course, Who’s Afraid of Virginnia Wolf?
